Can I Register A Export Only Title Car
"FOR Export But" Title in California.
Acquit with me here guys. My little Brother-in-constabulary just bought a motorcar through a private sale. I was looking at the title and documentation that was given to him and noticed in large, cherry, bold messages the phrase "FOR Export Simply" stamped across the title. I've never seen that. I too noticed that on the line where it asks for signature of registered owner, "Repo" is filled in. Along with the Title he received a DMV Certificate of Repossession that'southward too stamped with "FOR EXPORT Only." Looking at that certificate I see: The car was repossessed by a licensed repossession agency due to a "default of contract by the original owner," and it was delivered to an auto auction for auction and sold through the auto sale. Looking at the documents, the person that sold him the machine isn't on any of the documentation. He likewise didn't receive any machine registration from the seller only the car has JUNE 2017 stickers on the plates. I did a preliminary search and immediately saw that he might not always be able to register this car in the U.SA.
And so my questions are: Why does the documentation say "FOR Export Only," what does it hateful exactly? Was the car rebuilt? Is this something like a salvage title? Is he able to re-register the car under his proper name? Any other info we should know about this tile of title?
